After Knowledge Seminar - 2 윤홍근, Hongguen, Yoon. CEO in BBQ chicken

I am required to attend Knowledge Seminar once a month to be qualified for going to WKF. This time, two speakers were invited to address. One was a representative in sustainvest and the other CEO of Genesis Corp. known for BBQ.

As all success story motivates me to live harder, this seminar was good enough to stimulate. Especially direct and face to face meeting was more influencial. When he announced his goal, I thought this was quite impossible. His goal is to open 50000 his franchises and predominate over McDonald. At the beginning, I was at a loss to hear that. However as I fell in his speech, he will do it and his business will be number one in Franchise industry by 2020.

I can tell that will come true by his well preparation, passion for chicken, customer and franchisee oriented business, and etc.

Where to start? before luanching his business, he worked in Miwon company making seasoning over 10 years. He always worked more as if he is CEO in many fields even trading in future and option market. This experience later helped him track how agricultural product price fluctuated. After IMF, he decided to open his chichen business despite objections from surrounding people. However he looked straight at niche market. Previous chichen store was for male with drinking. His target was children and wives and his prediction was correct.

Afterward, in progress of early growth, while deciding to expand, he made a decision to open Chicken school! Larger and more resourceful than Hamburger school by McDonald. With R&D of world taste, it supports lunching oversea franchise and expanding to become number one in franchise industry. In order to maintain its taste and quality, he eats one chicken everyday!! Amazing..is it sick and tired of doing same thing everyday? oww.. gosh.

I have once watched EBS TV program how differently eastern and western people see the world. Western people see thing separate but Eastern related and connected. This is just a way they are. No reason for this. Consequently, YOU are YOU, I am I culture has developed such as mercenary(hired) soldier while YOU and I culture has grown such as JIT system by TOYOTA. If you fail, we all fail.

Therefore, contract franchise did not work under korean and asian culture. Therefore he himself visited and talked every single franchisee and urged them to gather up to know what franchisees think. Afterward, complaint has reduced and get refunded in they go bankrupt. In order to prevent from competitive contest, the company assigned only a franchise per one district. Its policy might grow franchisee but not franchiser, BBQ. In this circumstance, it expanded its business in foreign countries and is going well.

Interesting story went with his business. It was about Olive Oil. Now it is prevalent everywhere though, its advent in Korea was introduced by HIM for sure!! Normal oil contains trans fat which cause block in blood vessel. Thus, as customer's cognition for well-being is getting smart, sales dramatically dropped and became worse. However, Spanish loves Olive oil and no objection exists. Oilve oil is one of healthy foods, not causing trans fat oil problems. Rockafella lived long with two spoons of olive oil after getting-up.Anyway, he tried to bring in the oil to his business and our country in spite of high cost. He suggested spanish company share its cost with BBQ and a company refining the oil to fry at high degree.

Successful story, especially enterpriseship, always make my heart pounding! They would have experienced frustrations more than I've done and stand up again with positive mind. Learning their great attitude, I walk up again and go for my goal : )
